Social listening discovered buzz around a Pew study that church attendance was dropping. I approached several of the diocesan administrative priests inviting them to response with a blog post. Within 24 hours, the Rev Alissa Newtown wrote a piece on how this research wasn't bad, but just showing the people who attend church are more engaged.
The piece was only distributed organically. Within days it had 557% Facebook reach and 62% engagement (to total followers). It was the sixth most popular page on the site, just behind the staff list. The post was shared outside the denomination and across the country.
